Norwegian Long Haul Chief Executive Bjorn Kjos announced that Norwegian will be introducing 19 more Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners over the next five years. This latest order will bring the leading low-cost long-haul carriers Dreamliner fleet to a total of 38 by 2020.

This is Boeing’s largest single order of Dreamliners by any European carrier, with the options of a further 10 of the type. Chief Executive Bjorn Kjos said “I would have no problem to place 40-50 Dreamliners in to the market and that is what we are going to do.”

Norwegian is speeding up growth plans for the long haul fleet with the first of the 19 B787-9’s deliveries to commence in 2017.  4 B787-9’s are being delivered in 2016 (from the original order) with an additional 9 now arriving in 2017, 7 in 2018 and 5 each in 2019 and 2020.

With Norwegian Long Haul’s fleet growth plans, Norwegian is an attractive career path for pilots wanting to fly the latest in Boeing technology for a leading airline. Norwegian Long Haul B787 Captain and First Officer recruitment for 2016 screenings is currently underway.
