On 30 August 2018, Miami International Airport confirmed that Royal Air Maroc plans to commence a three times weekly Casablanca-Miami service with Boeing 787-8 equipment from 03 April 2019. This service will be the first passenger operation between Africa and Miami since 2000 and the only nonstop service between Africa and Florida.
Royal Air Maroc will operate three weekly round trip flights between Miami and its Casablanca hub, where it offers numerous connections to North African, West African, Middle Eastern, American and European destinations. The route will be operated with new-generation Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft, configured to accommodate 18 business class and 255 economy class passengers. This latest addition is part of Royal Air Maroc’s ambitious goal to become the leading airline in Africa. The Miami route is an addition to its extensive expansion into East Africa announced earlier in 2018, including Dar es Salaam, Harare, Kigali, and Maputo, and Khartoum.
