Korean Air Pilot Selection Procedure

The Korean Air selection procedure consists of the following stages. Your Rishworth Aviation Recruitment Consultant will be available to assist you at all points throughout the process.

To begin the process you will need to complete an Application Form and indicate your availability to attend a Screening (click here to download)

Once you have completed the Application Form you will need to return the form to us here koreanair@rishworthaviation.com

We will require copies of your:

  • Licence
  • Medical
  • Passport
  • Last 90 days of logbook pages
  • Highest education certificate

(First Officers must hold a College or University Degree/Diploma - minimum 2 year course after graduating from high school/secondary school)

Rishworth Aviation will forward your completed Application Form to Korean Air for their internal review, prior to the cut off date for each Screening date
(click here for confirmed screening dates throughout 2016)

Korean Air will provide Rishworth Aviation with a list of invited candidates around the 25th of the month prior to each Screening. Rishworth Aviation will notify you immediately if you are invited or not.

Once invited to a Screening, Rishworth Aviation will coordinate with you travel dates and further documents to be completed and submitted prior to attending the Screening in Seoul, Korea.

The Screening in Seoul will consist of:

  •     Medical
  •     SIM evaluation
  •     Personality assessment
  •     An Interview

We will provide you with detailed preparation advice prior to you attending the Screening.

Final Screening results will be provided to us by Korean Air within 3 weeks of the Screening you attended - it takes this period of time for all medical results to be reviewed (unless you are advised by Korean Air at the Screening that you are unsuccessful)

If successful at the Screening, Rishworth Aviation will let you know and a class start date for joining Korean Air can be worked out with you. This start date will take into account your current notice period, obtaining type ratings if you are non type rated, visas etc.

If you are not type rated you will be required to obtain the appropriate rating prior to joining Korean Air. We can advise on finding an appropriate TRTO.

Completion of final documentation required by Korean Air (Korean visa application), signing of Rishworth Aviation contract, coordination of travel dates and ticketing will take place.

Once you join Korean Air initial training, including ground school, SIM and line training will last approximately 3-4 months. You will then start line flight duties.
