The role

This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified Reliability Engineer to join our client's dedicated Engineering team based in Bankstown, NSW.

As a Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible to improve aircraft and component reliability via effective analysis of data and communication with aircraft and aircraft component manufacturers and repairers.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and monitoring significant aircraft defects, recurring defects, dispatch reliability, and to highlight trends and identify root causes.
  • Maintaining history of all aircraft recurring defects and component strip reports, including all investigations carried out to determine cause of defect and corrective action.
  • Reviewing strip reports from manufacturers/repairers and providing history and document reports from reliability data and benchmark against industry standards.
  • Investigate premature component failures and providing solutions
  • Review aircraft parts for validation, interchangeability, and technical information
  • Compiling and reviewing data for Aviation Safety & Quality meetings
  • Produce reliability/serviceability reports (CASA & internal)
  • Report aircraft and engine data to the manufacturer
  • Develop and manage aircraft reliability programs
  • Produce reliability/serviceability reports (CASA & internal)
  • Review optional and recommended Service Bulletins for possible implementation.
  • Provide technical support to maintenance personnel (when required) for our client's aircraft fleet.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with aircraft and aircraft component manufacturers and repairers.
  • Liaise with Part 21 organisations, STC holders, manufacturers, etc. and internal stakeholders for aircraft modifications


About you

To be successful in this role you will possess the following:

Essential:

  • Licenced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer or Aeronautical tertiary qualification with aviation industry experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an engineering background.
  • Knowledge of CASA regulations.
  • Experience with maintenance programs and software.
  • Extensive knowledge of aircraft systems - avionics and mechanical.
  • Advanced user of Microsoft programs.
  • Well-developed analytical, numeric, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple information sources and demands under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage competing priorities. 
  • Team orientation & focused on collaboration, guidance, and open communication.
  • Have a decisive and self-starting attitude that promotes a safe and positive work ethic and culture.

Desirable:

  • Experience with Aerotrack MRO software
