FAA Part 135 Charter Sales - US based

We are currently seeking to add a proven and experienced charter sales professional to join our team.


Our charter department is responsible for managing existing client relationships (to include aircraft owners), acquiring new charter customers (both retail clients and air charter brokers), and oversee all private and Charter flight logistics. In addition to growing and nurturing client relationships, the charter department takes pride in providing top tier customer service before, during and after the flight quoting, sales, scheduling and support process. The successful candidate will have a proven history of Aircraft Charter Sales (or similary industry) success and know how to create customer loyalty. This person will have exemplary communication/interpersonal skills, capacity for leadership, and can think clearly under pressure.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • After hours (evening), weekend, and holiday on-call rotation will be required and a shared responsibility within the department assigned by seniority. This is a mandatory requirement for the role.
  • Providing department leadership by not only excelling at the charter quoting and booking process, but also taking ownership of decisions made by the department, providing training to other employees, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Training is provided and support will be available, but the ability to work unassisted, manage time and tasks effectively, and be self-starter is required.
  • Delivering on the company promise of providing a higher level of service in the private aviation industry. Exceeding customer service expectations is a daily requirement.
  • This customer sales and service role includes: charter quoting, booking trips/securing payment, arranging customer/crew catering and transportation needs and active customer flight following.
  • Managing heavy telephone and email interactions with clients, prospects, aircraft owners and industry contacts. In addition to maintaining and enhancing existing customer/broker relationships, providing immediate responses and performing prompt follow-up is a requirement of this position.
  • Reporting to the Director of Charter to meet or exceed sales goals, including those for monthly quote totals, completed bookings, revenue, brokered (off-fleet) bookings, and empty leg completions.
  • Guaranteeing that each flight is safely conducted and that all activities are in compliance with FAA, TSA regulations and company operations specifications.
  • Coordinating, scheduling and planning all flights to allow the efficient use of the aircraft and crew while minimizing empty repositioning flights to maximize profits
  • Working with the accounting department to invoice and secure client payments for upcoming bookings and ancillary charges, post trip.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of two years experience in FAA Part 135 Aircraft Charter Sales (comparable experience in high values sales, logistics or private Part 91 aircraft management is beneficial but in addition to required industry experience)
  • Two- or four-year college degree 
  • Dispatch license preferred but not required
  • Proven track record of professionally managed aircraft accounts (with references) and Charter sales performance (with numbers)  
  • Knowledge of FARs, domestic and world geography and business aircraft
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to be a team player with a positive attitude in high pressure environment
  • Exceptional computer/mobile/technology skills
  • Flight scheduling software experience required (JetInsight, Avinode, FOS, etc.)
  • Preference given to those local to the Greater San Diego Area.
  • Remote work is considered.
